Helping the helpers
Amano Connect sell assistive technology products and services that help elderly and other people overcome challenges with living independently in their own home.
Moortor Web helped Amano Connect with an eCommerce site that needs to sell traditional shippable products, recurring subscriptions for services and products that are a combination of both.
To add an extra layer of complexity, some of those products can also be purchased outright or rented with a deposit, but need to charge the recurring monthly service subscription regardless of which option the customer chooses.

Taking care of VAT
As many of Amano Connect’s customers are registered disabled or are charity organisations, they need to be able to claim VAT exemption. We made it so customers could enter the details of their disability or their registered charity number to have VAT removed at the checkout.
As the website is regularly browsed by customers with varying abilities it was important that we made allowance for people with a range of visual, aural and other impairments. We custom built a text resizer and colour scheme picker that are carefully designed to help people deal with these common challenges.
The Amano Connect team are always opening our eyes to the challenges people face in everyday life, and particularly when interacting with websites. We continue to do our best to make the site accessible to as many people as possible and use what we learn to improve the sites of all the customers we work with.
